Good Governance
Good governance is pivotal for the strengthening of an economy, the empowerment of citizens and the enhancing accountability.
NSDI will work towards ensuring;
1• Citizen empowerment and enhance ownership of development projects.
2• Build capacity of community based leadership structures such as Village Development Committees (VDCs), Area Development Committees (ADCs), School Committees and Water Points Committees (WPC)
3• Promote transparency and Accountability
4• Strengthen coordination and networking
The community will work towards the following;
1• Form and strengthen community governance structures.
2• Account for resources both from the donor and the NSDI
3• Strengthen Coordination.
The donor shall do the following:
1• Provide technical advice where necessary
Gender
NSDI believes that gender equality is integral to all development efforts as evidenced by the c lose correlation between gender and disparity and experiences of poverty
NSDI will work towards ensuring;
1• NSDI shall build capacity of the citizens in gender issues
2• NSDI shall ensure that there is enhanced inclusiveness of vulnerable gender groups such as women, youth and people living with disability in development initiatives. This shall be done through awareness, and trainings.
The community will work towards the following;
1• Include vulnerable gender groups in its activity implementation
The donor shall do the following:
1• Provide technical advice where necessary
Education
Education is key to economic development at all levels and citizen empowerment
NSDI will work towards ensuring;
1• In collaboration with the community, NSDI shall develop viable implementation plans for the project, monitor the implementation of the activities, and assess the impact of the initiatives.
2• NSDI shall act as a bridge between the community members and the donor as such provide necessary reports to relevant stakeholders.
3• Enhance coordination and networking among stakeholders that shall include but not limited to the District Council, government departments NGOs and the community members.
4• Assess community needs and act as a spokesperson for Ntchisi community.
5• Promote Community contribution towards the implementation of the project interventions.
The community will work towards the following;
1• Provide community needs to NSDI for for implementation
2• Participatory development of plans
3• Implement the plans within the specified project life span
4• Coordinate with the District Council, NSDI, other NGOs and the donor
5• Mobilize and provide community based resources for the implementation of the projects.
The donor shall do the following:
1• Connect NSDI to other relevant international stakeholders/partners
Water Development

NSDI will work towards ensuring;
1• NSDI shall mobilize community members to participate in development initiatives and ensure sustainability.
2• NSDI shall promote community contribution towards the implementation of the project interventions
3• In collaboration with the community, NSDI shall develop viable implementation plans for the project, monitor the implementation of the activities, and assess the impact of the initiatives.
The community will work towards the following;
1• Provide community based needs for the implementation of the project activities
The donor shall do the following:
1• Provide financial support
2• Provide feedback after getting the reports
3• Connect NSDI to other relevant international stakeholders/partners
Conclusion
NSDI, has vast experience in the implementation of the areas of partnership and the roles above through its membership. As such, it is willing to partner with anyone beyond the above partnership areas when need be.
